Hackensack NJ 2nd Alm, 164 Stanley Pl. 05-30-12
At just before 15:30 on May 30th 2012, Hackensack Fire Dept 1st platoon E-4, E-5, L-1, R-1 under the command of DC Stephen Kalman responded to 164 Stanley Pl for a reported house fire. On arrival, fire was showing from 2 windows on the 2nd floor D side of the structure, a 2-1/2 story frame, 20 X 35 private dwelling with balloon construction, a second alarm was sounded bringing Eng's 2 & 1 and Teaneck E-1 as the FAST team, off duty members were called back to man reserve apparatus along with mutual aid co's for cover. The fire was quickly knocked down by the 1st hand line and searches were negative. Co's needed to perform extensive overhaul due to some extension into the attic and fire located in the walls on the D side and also the floor space between the 1st & 2nd floors. In all, 3 lines were placed into operation, L-2 and Englewood E-1 were special called to the scene and the fire was placed under control in approximately 45 mins. 1 FF was transported to the hospital for exhaustion and the cause is believed to be the homeowner doing work in the 1st floor kitchen though not officially determined.
