S. Hackensack NJ W/F 177 Phillips Ave. 08-22-13

At around 09:20 on August 22, 2013 during a violent thunderstorm, South Hackensack Fire Dept responded for a reported tree on fire in the rear of 177 Phillips Ave, upon arrival of SHPD it was discovered that the fire involved a 2 car detached garage with heavy fire in the loft area, mutual aid from Moonachie and Hackensack responded to assist, 3 hand lines were put into operation and the fire was under control in less than 30 minutes. No injuries occured, the garage was heavily damaged as were 2 cars inside, it is believed the garage was struck by lightning based on eyewitness reports, co's operated with 3 engines and 1 ladder.
