Elmwood Pk NJ 3rd Alm, 146 16th Ave, 12-01-14

At approximately 09:20 on December 1st, 2014 Elmwood Pk fire dept responded to 146 16th Ave for a reported house fire, on arrival co's encountered a fully involved 2 story frame private dwelling and PD confirmed all the occupants were out. A 2nd alarm was requested followed quickly by a 3rd as companies knocked down the heavy fire from the exterior before entering for an interior attack. Conditions deteriorated and co's reported an interior collapse forcing command to pull all members out of the building. After another brief exterior attack most visible fire was knocked down and companies made their way back inside to open up and extinguish remaining fire. The fire was placed under control in about 1 hour and the home was a total loss.
