Newark NJ 4th alm, 295 Lafayette St. 11-15-14
At just around 22:00 on Saturday November 15th 2014 Newark Fire Dept responded for a reported building fire at 295 Lafayette St. E-5 arrived to find heavy fire in the rear of a 3 story frame building and a 2-1/2 story frame building and requested a 2nd alarm. On the arrival of Battalion 5 a 3rd alarm was requested due to the fire now in a 3rd building, another 3 story frame with additional buildings severely threatened, as conditions continued to deteriorate and with a heavy fire condition, a 4th alarm was transmitted for additional manpower and all members were withdrawn from the 3 original fire buildings. Companies went to an exterior attack using 3 ladder pipes, 1 deck gun and numerous exterior hand lines. By 23:30 all visible fire was knocked down and companies started to overhaul, the fire was reported under control by Deputy 1 at 00:20 hours but companies remained on the scene through the night and into the next day.
