Passaic NJ 3rd Alarm, 214 Summer St. 01-09-16
On the morning on January 9th, 2016 at approximately 07:30, Passaic Fire Dept responded to 214 Summer St and found heavy fire showing from the 1st floor of a 2-1/2 story home which had been converted into several apartments. A 2nd alarm was immediately requested, all occupants were found to be out of the home as the fire quickly spread throughout the building and threatened the B exposure. Command pulled all the members out of the building and requested a 3rd alarm. The fire took a couple hours to get under control and the home was a total loss, however the B exposure was saved and suffered only smoke and water damage. It was reported that 8 people lived in the house, none of which were injured although several firefighters suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
