Paterson NJ 2nd alarm, 201 & 199 12th Ave. 10-07-16
At just around 0315 on October 7th, 2016, Paterson NJ Fire Dept transmitted the box for a possible fire in the area of Rosa Parks Blvd and 12th Ave. on the assignment was E-5, 1, 4, 3, L-3, 1, BC-2, R-2 and 68-1. Upon leaving quarters E-5 reported heavy smoke in the area and as BC-2 arrived he reported a fully involved vacant 2-1/2 story frame with a severe exposure problem on the B side and requested a 2nd alarm. Heavy fire involved both buildings, the B exposure, 199 12th Ave. was also a 2-1/2 story frame but was occupied. The original fire building collapsed within 20 minutes of the companies arrival and with 2 ladder pipes and numerous hand lines, the main body of fire was knocked down in about 1 hour. After a lot of overhauling and hitting pockets of fire, D-1 placed the fire under control at just before 0630, No firefighters were injured and the Passaic County Prosecutors Office was called due to the large amount of fire on arrival.
