Paterson NJ 2nd alarm, 619 E. 26th St. 06-24-16
At just after 23:00 on June 24th 2016, Paterson Fire Alarm transmitted the box for a possible fire in the area of E. 26th St & 14th Ave. While enroute co's reported smoke in the area and upon arrival of Battalion 2, he reported a large vacant 3 story frame dwelling with heavy fire blowing out the 2nd floor windows. Co's attempted and interior attack as the exposures were evacuated but command quickly pulled all co's out of the building and requested a 2nd alarm as heavy fire was extending into the attic. With numerous hand lines and 1 ladder pipe in operation, Deputy 3 established a collapse zone due to the heavy fire and the condition of the building, a command which proved to be correct, approximately 40 minutes into the fire, the entire front section of the building at the 3rd floor level collapsed into the street, no members were injured. The main body of fire was knocked down in just over an hour and the fire was placed under control at 01:35.
