Rochelle Pk NJ W/F Harvey Ave & W. Passaic St. 11-21-16

At around 15:30 on November 21st, 2016, Rochelle Park NJ Fire Dept responded for reports of a working car fire Harvey Ave & W. Passaic St. Upon arrival of E-1 and T-1 a fully involved SUV was found burning in the driveway of the house on the corner with the fire extending to the adjacent vinyl fence and the garage door. A hand line was stretched and put into operation quickly knocking down the bulk of the fire and preventing any extension into the home itself. After some overhaul, the fire was placed under control by 16:00. Quick work by the firefighters limited the damage to the vehicle, the fencing, the outside of the home as well as the electrical and phone lines. Ironically the owner of the vehicle stated she was going to pull into her garage but smelled something and decided not to, if she had, the outcome could have been much different.
