Glen Rock NJ 3rd alarm, 905 Maple Ave. 03-07-17
At just after 13:00 hours on March 7th, 2017, Glen Rock NJ Fire Dept was dispatched for a possible structure fire at St. Catharines Roman Catholic Church on Maple Ave. in the recreation center. Ridgewood Fire Dept was also assigned with 1 engine and as units arrived heavy smoke was showing from the 1 story building set back several hundred feet from the road. A working fire was declared and a 2nd alarm was requested. As lines were stretched into the building, fire was visible on the C/D corner running the along the roof line towards the ridge. Tower 832 went up to vent the roof but put there master stream into service for several minutes knocking down the bulk of the fire. A 3rd alarm was requested for manpower and by 13:45 command reported the main body of fire knocked down. After extensive overhaul, the fire was declared under control at 14:30, no injuries were reported and the Bergen County Arson Squad was requested to assist with the investigation.
