Paramus NJ W/F 395 Paramus Rd. 03-13-17
On March 13th, 2017 at just around 10:45, Paramus Fire Dept responded to 395 Paramus Rd. "Denny Wiggers Garden Center" for a report of a fire. Upon arrival companies discovered a working fire in a 15' X 20' 1.5 story stone building which was loaded with fire would that was being dried. Co's reported the building well involved with fire already through the roof and command requested a boro general alarm bringing all 4 fire co's to the scene and mutual aid for cover. All hands went to work with several hand lines knocking down the majority of fire in about 20 minutes. Due to the amount of wood which was packed into the building, pockets of fire remained deep seated, truck 4 was put into operation overhead and a bucket loader was requested from the DPW to pull apart the wood, allowing companies to extinguish the remaining fire. The loader arrived at just around 11:45 and the fire was under control at 12:00, no injuries were reported and the is not considered suspicious.
