Paterson NJ 3rd Alm, 67 & 69 Holsman St. 12-10-17

At just before 21:30 on December 10th 2017, Paterson NJ fire dispatch put out a box for a possible fire at 60 Holsman St, Battalion 2 was advised that they were receiving numerous calls. Minutes later E-4 arrived and the captain reported 2 2-1/2 story frame dwellings with heavy fire and requested a 2nd alarm. Lines were stretched into both buildings as the trucks ventilated and performed primary searches. At the 20 minute mark, Deputy Chief McDermott reported heavy fire conditions in both buildings, ordered co's to evacuate and go to a defensive operation and also requested a 3rd alarm. After about 15 minutes using 2 ladder pipes and numerous exterior hand lines companies re-entered the buildings and were successful in knocking down most of the visible fire. At 22:40 command reported the fire was probably will hold with extensive overhaul required and placed the fire under control at 00:45. No known injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
