Fair Lawn NJ 2nd alarm, 87 Pomona Ave. 02-10-18

At around 23:30 hours on February 10th 2018, Fair Lawn NJ Fire Dept responded to 87 Pomona Ave for a report of a house fire. On arrival Chief 90 reported heavy smoke showing from a 1.5 story frame home and requested a 2nd alarm for cover. Co's found a working fire in the basement and immediately stretched lines into the home to get to the seat of the fire as the truck co vented the roof. Fire extended to the 1st floor but companies were able to keep it from extending through the rest of the home. At the 1 hour mark command reported the main body of fire was knocked down and co's were opening up and hitting hot spots. The fire was placed under control at 01:05 hours with no injuries reported although the home was deemed uninhabitable.
