Hackensack NJ 2nd alarm, 48 Kansas St. 12-8-18
Hackensack Fire Dept was dispatched to the area of 60 Kansas St in the early morning hours of December 8th, 2018 at around 02:40, HFP reported they were getting call s for a building fire. On arrival Acting Deputy Chief Gargagliano reported a working fire with heavy fire from the front of the 1 story ordinary building at 48 Kansas St which was the offices and warehouse of a construction co. A 2nd alarm was requested which brought mutual aid to the scene from Teaneck and Englewood and an additional engine and truck from Hackensack as well as mutual aid for cover.
As the truck went to the roof for ventilation, 2 2-1/2" hand lines were stretched through the front door quickly knocking down the main body of fire. After extensive overhaul the fire was placed under control at 04:05. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
