Lodi NJ 2nd alarm, 131 Spring St, 1-10-18

On January 10th, 2018 at approximately 07:45, Lodi NJ Fire Dept units arrived at 131 Spring St. to find a working fire with heavy fire conditions in a large 2.5 story home. Command requested a 2nd alarm and reported heavy fire on the 2nd floor. At 08:04 with heavy fire extending into the attic, command ordered the evacuation of all members from the building quickly followed by a request for a 3rd alarm. An attempt was made to enter the building and advance to the attic however following a collapse of the roof at 08:29, all members were ordered out once again and exterior attack was used using 2 ladder pipes and a deck gun to knock down the heavy fire. The fire was placed under control at 10:00 with companies engaged in heavy overhaul. The cause of the fire is unknown.
