Paterson NJ 2nd alarm, 28 Paterson St. 10-26-18
In the early morning hours of October 26th 2018, co's from the Paterson NJ Fire Dept 3rd battalion were dispatched to 28 Paterson St. for possible fire. This 3 story mill building is well known, being the scene of several other fires. On arrival Battalion 3 reported fire on all 3 floors of the building putting all co's to work. At 05:05 Deputy 2 Chief Calamita requested the Pasaic County haz-mat team to respond for chemicals stored in and around the building as well as in exposure D and requested a 2nd alarm with all co's in a defensive mode. At 05:45 with all visible fire knocked down co's gained entry conducting primary searches and starting overhaul. The fire was placed under control shortly before 06:30 however co's remained on the scene through out the morning conducting air monitoring while an environmental cleanup company operated.
