Ridgefield Park NJ 2nd alarm, 139 E. Grand Ave. 04-23-18

At just before midnight on April 23rd, Ridgefield Park NJ Fire Dept was dispatched to 139 E. Grand Ave., the homeowner called and reported their home was on fire. On arrival of Chief Rodney Wagner he reported a working fire with heavy smoke showing from a 1-1/2 story frame home. The fire was located in a rear room on the 1st floor and was extending up the walls into the attic, several lines where stretched as the truck co's opened up. The fire eventually broke through the vent holes in the roof but was quickly knocked down with interior hand lines. After very labor intensive overhaul the fire was placed under control at around 01:30. 1 firefighter suffered a minor injury and was transported to the hospital, mutual aid co's from Bogota, Hackensack, and Little Ferry operated at the scene and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
