1. 2018 Fires

Ridgefield Park NJ 2nd alarm, 30 Bergen Tpk. 05-07-18

At just around 06:55 on May 7th, Ridgefield Park NJ firefighters arriving at 30 Bergen Turnpike, a large industrial complex found heavy smoke showing form the large 1 story building which housed a printing co. and declared a working fire. Shortly after command requested a 2nd alarm to the scene and 3rd alarm co's to cover the town. Several hand lines were stretched into the building where co's found heavy fire involving a large piece of of machinery used in the printing process as well as some of the chemical and inks in the area as the trucks went to the roof for ventilation.
At 1910 command reported the main body of fire was knocked down which a heavy smoke condition through out. At 1945 command placed the fire as PWH with co's overhauling and extended operations due to the amount of smoke which needed to be ventilated.
The fire was contained to the printing machine and the general area around it, the cause is believed to be a malfunction with the printing process, no injuries were reported and mutual aid co's from Hackensack, Bogota, Little Ferry and Teaneck assisted at the scene.
