Paterson NJ 2nd alarm, 13 Pearl St. 11-25-19
On November 25th, 2019, Paterson NJ firefighters were at it again as they fought a 2 alarm fire in a vacant 2.5 story frame. At around 12:40, dispatch transmitted the box for reports of a possible fire in the area of Straight St and Pearl St. Upon leaving quarters, E-6 reported a large column of smoke visible. On arrival companies encountered heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor extending into the attic with an exposure problem on the D side, an occupied 2.5 story frame. Multiple hand lines were stretched into the building as the truck opened up and an exposure protection line was put into operation. At @12:51, Car 1 transmitted a 2nd alarm for additional manpower. With the main body of fire knocked down, companies started extensive overhaul and the fire was placed under control at just after 14:00 by Deputy 4, Chief Calamita. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
