Paterson NJ 2nd alarm, 390 21st Ave. 09-01-19

At just prior to 0930 on September 1st 2019 Paterson Fire Dispatch received multiple calls for a building fire at Madison Ave and 21st Ave. On arrival of Battalion 1 he reported a working fire in what appeared to be a 2 story commercial building at 390 21st Ave, as companies stretched attack lines it was found that the front 2nd floor wall was just a facade and the building was 1 story. Several lines were stretched as co's made their way to the roof for ventilation. Both exposures were checked for extension and the main body of fire was knocked down in less than 30 minutes. A 2nd alarm was requested for manpower bringing mutual aid co's into the city for cover. The fire was placed under control at around 1030 by Deputy Chief Bradle, no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
