Ridgefield Park NJ, working car fire, I-95 S/B 05-18-19

On the morning of May 18th 2019 Ridgefield Park Fire Dept. was alerted for a reported car fire on I-95 south. Upon arrival co's had a fully involved vehicle, 1 hand line was put into operation and quickly knocked down the main body of fire. A ruptured fuel tank and magnesium body parts made extinguishment difficult as the fire flared up several times until being placed under control in 15 minutes. The driver was evaluated by EMS and the cause of the fire was accidental.
