Garfield NJ 2nd alarm, 59 Harrison Ave. 01-10-21

Seven people were reported to have been displaced after a fast moving fire gutted the 2nd floor of a 2 story building at 59 Harrison Ave in Garfield NJ on January 10th, 2021. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at around 14:15 hours and quickly arrived to find heavy fire venting from the 2nd floor windows of the 2 story brick building. Several lines were into operation and the roof was opened up and the fire was quickly knocked down before it could extend to the attached exposure on the Bravo side. One firefighter suffered minor injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
