Teaneck NJ 2nd alarm, 773 Downing St. 10-04-22

Just before 20:30 on October 4th 2022, Teaneck Fire Headquarters received a call from smoke coming from the roof of a house at 773 Downing St. While fire companies were enroute, police units arrived and confirmed smoke coming from the home. On arrival of BC-4 Chris Robins, he reported a working fire with flames showing from the C/D corner on the 1st floor. Mutual aid from Englewood and Hackensack responded to the scene on the working fire and shortly after command requested a 2nd alarm bringing co's from Ridgefield Park and Bogota, additional mutual aid covered the Twp. The main body of fire was knocked down in under 15 minutes however fire had already gotten into the walls and extended to the 2nd floor. After back breaking overhaul opening the walls and ceiling from both the interior and exterior, the fire was placed under control without any injuries. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation.
