Passaic NJ 3rd alarm, 217 Brook Ave. 03-09-23

At approximately 09:05 on March 9th 2023, Passaic NJ Fire Dept. responded to 232 Terhune Ave. for a report of a fire. Battalion 2 reported smoke in the area while enroute and followed up with a working fire in a 2 story brick warehouse. He reported visible fire in the loading dock area and reports of a fire in the basement. A 2nd alarm was requested and companies were advised to utilize search guide ropes when entering the basement due to heavy smoke and the size of the building. Several 2-1/2" handlines were stretched into the loading dock and the basement and a 3rd alarm was requested for cover. The fire took about 90 minutes to be placed under control, 1 firefighter and several civilians suffered minor injuries.
