Reedy Creek Fire/Rescue Dept is a 100% career dept of @117 uniformed personel protecting the Disney World property which is about twice the size of Manhattan and includes 4 theme parks and all associated properties, multiple hotels, 2 incorporated cities, 1 air strip, an interstate highway (I-4) and an apartment complex from 4 stations operating 4 engines, 2 ladders, 1 squad (heavy rescue), 1 reserve squad, 1 tanker, 7 ALS rescues (ambulances) as well as specialized equipment (brush trucks, rapid response EMS vehicles, etc). The RCFRD is very proactive in regards to fire prevention in order to protect the 100's of thousand visitors to the property each year. They also provide automatic mutual aid into Orange and Osceola Counties.
