Clifton NJ 2nd Alarm, 143 W. 1st St. 12-17-15
On the morning of December 17th, 2015 at approximately 08:20, Clifton Firefighters responded to 143 W. 1st St. to find a working fire in the basement of a large 3 story frame multi family building. Heavy smoke was showing from the building as companies made an aggressive attack and quickly had the main body of fire knocked down in 30 minutes. Although the basement suffered heavy damage, the remainder of the home, although left uninhabitable suffered mostly smoke damage. The fire which left 14 people displaced and 3 occupants transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation was under control in about an hour, no firefighters were injured. Co's from Paterson, Passaic and Montclair assisted at the 2nd alarm fire.
