Clifton NJ 4th alarm, 113 & 115 E. 6th St. 04-16-15

At around 04:30 hours on 4-16-15, Clifton Fire Dept responded to 113 E. 6th St for a reported fire. While enroute companies were advised that PD was on the scene and reporting a working fire, upon arrival of the 1st due engine, heavy smoke was pushing from the 2-1/2 story frame dwelling with heavy fire in the rear. A 2nd alarm was requested and an interior attack was commenced but as conditions deteriorated and fire extending into exposure D, a 3 story frame dwelling, all members were pulled from the buildings. 2 tower ladders, 1 deck gun and several hand lines were put into operation as heavy frie swept through out the original fire building and heavily damaged the 2nd floor and attic of exposure D. 3rd and 4th alarms were requested for manpower and for additional water supplies, companies were hampered by poor water supply until addtional supply lines were established. The original fire building was a total loss and exposure D suffered heavy damage to the 2nd floor and attic, no civilians were reported injured but 4 fireifighters suffered minor injuries. The fire took several hours to control.
