Glen Rock NJ 2nd alarm, 792 Maple Ave. 02-01-15

At about 11:20 on February 1st, 2015, Glen Rock Fire Dept responded to 792 Maple Ave. for a reported garage fire. The 1st arriving chief reported an attached garage fully involved and extending into the home and requested a 2nd alarm. Mutual aid from Fair Lawn, Hawthorne and Ridgewood responded to assist. While some companies attacked the heavy fire in the garage additional line were stretched into the home and quickly knocked down the fire that had extended inside. The garage was a total loss, the home suffered heat, smoke and some fire damage but there were no reported injuries. Firefighters were able to rescue 1 dog however 2 cats perished in the blaze. The fire was placed under control at around12:25
