Kearny NJ 4th alarm 23 Second St. 01-31-15

At around 14:00 on January 31st, 2015, Kearny Fire Dept responded for a reported building fire at 23 Second St. in the industrial South Kearny area. On arrival companies were greeted with a heavy fire condition in a 1 story truck repair company. Frigid temperatures and high winds didn't help as the fire took control of most of the building. Master streams were set up and command requested a 3rd alarm bringing companies from Jersey City, East Newark, North Arlington, Bayonne and North Hudson to the scene as additional companies covered Kearny firehouses. The fire eventually went to 4 alarms and destroyed the building, no injuries were reported and the fire was placed under control around 18:00 hours.
