Lodi NJ 3rd alarm, 61 & 59 River St. 10-20-15

At just before 04:00 on October 20th, Lodi Fire Dept responded to reports of a house fire at 61 River St. PD units confirmed a working fire and upon arrival of the 1st chief, he confirmed heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor of the 2 story brick multiple dwelling with fire already into exposure B, a 2-1/2 story frame s family home and requested a 2nd alarm. Companies evacuated both buildings and attempted an interior attack but as heavy fire broke through the roofs of both buildings, command pulled all companies out and requested a 3rd alarm. With the use of 1 ladder tower and multiple outside streams the main body of fire was knocked down within an hour and the fire was declared under control at 05:45 hours. Both buildings were heavily damaged.
