North Bergen NJ 3rd alarm, 8200 Kennedy Blvd. 08-29-15
At just before 0100 hours on August 29th, 2015, North Hudson Regional Fire Rescue units were dispatched the 82nd St and Kennedy Blvd for a reported building fire. L-5 quartered less than 2 blocks away turned out and called a working fire with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor of the 2 story ordinary mixed occupancy building. Upon arrival of BC-3, he confirmed the report and transmitted a 2nd alarm, due to the heavy fire conditions companies immediately set up for an exterior attack and as fire broke through the roof command transmitted a 3rd alarm. 2 ladder pipes, 1 telesquirt and several outside handlines were put into operation and had the main body of fire knocked down in about 40 minutes although pockets of fire continued to flair up from the roof and several sections of the 2nd floor. The fire was placed under control in about 2 hours with companies remaining on the scene for several more hours. No injuries were reported although the building suffered heavy fire damage to the 2nd floor which was unoccupied and under renovation.
