Paterson NJ 4th alarm, 10 Redwood Ave. 01-31-15

At around 13:10 on January 31st 2015, Paterson Fire Alarm received multiple calls for a building fire in the area of 12 Redwood Ave. On arrival BC-2 reported a working fire at #10 a 2-1/2 story vacant frame dwelling heavily involved with fire already extending into exposure B, an occupied 3 story frame and transmitted a 2nd alarm. As conditions deteriorated companies set up master streams and stretched lines into the exposure to stop the fire from spreading, with all companies heavily engaged command requested a 3rd alarm. With companies on all floors of the exposure and the main body of fire in the original building being knocked down the fire extension was limited. Due to frigid temperatures and almost zero wind chills Deputy 3 requested the 4th alarm with companies to stage. No injuries were reported and the fire was placed under control at around 15:30 hours.
